fit Gas Purification Units, Process Ovens, Analyzers, Vacuum Equipment, and much more.
Inert Glove Box with integrated Laser Welders can be used in a variety of applications including but not limited to -
Medical Device - Innovative Technology, Inc provide a wide range of both resistance and laser welding Glove
Boxes to medical device manufacturers who require a reliable and maintainable inert atmosphere when fine control
and atmospheric monitoring is crucial. Glove Boxes and our integrated welders feature closed loop power
feedback and built-in quality monitors and available data logging that will assist in meeting FDA's standard for the
production of medical devices.
-
Battery Manufacturing - A reliable and maintainable Inert Atmosphere is key in most resistance and laser
welding battery fabrication steps. These joining technologies are suited to many kinds of batteries; Lithium Ion,
Nickel-Metal Hydride, Lead Acid, Nickel-Cadmium and Alkaline. In addition to covering sizes including; N - all
sizes, AAA (LR03 / R03) - all sizes, AA (LR6 / R6) - all sizes, Sub C & C, Some
-
Electronic Packaging - Glove Box Laser Welding and Resistance Welding are well suited to electrical
applications that require a Inert Atmosphere, precision and low heat input welding solutions. Innovative
Technology, Inc can provide high throughput systems including process ovens and other accessories geared
towards inert electronic packaging applications.
-
Lamp Manufacturing - Many welding applications for today's modern lamp assemblies require joining small
diameter tubing and thin foils. Glove Boxes are utilized to create reliable welds when fine control and atmospheric
monitoring is crucial. All of Innovative Technology, Inc Glove Boxes and integrated welding products have real time
process control to ensure consistent high quality results.
-
Solar Cell Production - Laser Welding and Resistance Welding of thin film solar cells, spot welding to cells,
marking of silicone can all be performed under an inert atmosphere in a Glove Box.
-
Industrial - Innovative Technology, Inc Laser Glove Boxes are designed to meet a wide range of industrial
manufacturing needs. Laser and Resistance technology both provide unique welding solutions for both cost and
welding performance.
Innovative Technology, Inc has several standard and configurable glove box models providing a range of capabilities and

Additive Welding
Breakthrough additive manufacturing technology for the fabrication & repair of high performance metal components.
System offers a 300 mm cubed work envelope, making it ideal for the manufacture or repair of
smaller components. LENS® systems use energy from a high-power laser to build up structures one
layer at a time directly from powdered metals. The resulting fully functional three-dimensional
components have mechanical properties that can be equivalent or even superior to wrought
materials. Systems can be used throughout the entire product lifecycle for applications ranging
from functional prototyping to rapid manufacturing or repair.
FEATURES
- Multiple metals capabilities
- Minimal impact on substrate
- Single-step process - reduced time and cost
- Low heat input - low distortion and heat-affected-zone
- Closed loop for precision deposition control
- High efficiency lasers for reduced cost of ownership
APPLICATIONS
- Rapid Manufacturing
- Hybrid Manufacturing
- Advanced Product Development
- Fabrication and repair of components for aerospace and defense applications
- Medical Device Manufacturing
Laser Engineered Net Shaping

Titanium Hip Stem
Systems are used to fabricate, enhance, and repair highperformance metal components in state-of-the-art materials such as titanium, stainless steel, and Inconel
Systems use energy from a high-power laser to build up structures one layer at a time directly from
powdered metals. The resulting fully functional three-dimensional components have mechanical
properties that can be equivalent or even superior to wrought materials. The ability of the LENS®
system to add material to existing components makes it an essential system for service and repair
applications. LENS® systems can also be used throughout the entire product lifecycle for applications
ranging from functional prototyping to low volume manufacturing
FEATURES
- Direct from CAD to part - no tooling required
- Superior material properties - full functionality
- Near-net-shape build or repair - minimal finishing

How the LENS® system works:
LENS systems utilizes a high-power laser together with powdered metals to build fully dense structures directly
from a 3-dimensional CAD solid model. The CAD model is automatically sliced into a tool-path, which instructs the
LENS machine how to build the part. The part is constructed layer by layer under the control of software that
monitors a variety of parameters to ensure geometric and mechanical integrity. The LENS process is housed in a
chamber which is purged with argon such that the oxygen level stays below 10 parts per million to ensure there is
no impurity pick-up during deposition. The metal powder is fed to the process by Optomec's proprietary powderfeed
system, which is able to flow small quantities of powder very precisely. When complete, the part is removed
and can be heat-treated, Hot-Isostatic-Pressed, machined, or finished in any other manner.
Innovative Technology recommends the following glovebox accessories:
- Turnkey Welding Station
- Gas Purifier
- Stainless Steel Piping & Fittings
- Lifting Mechanisms
- Quick Release Windows
- Custom Antechambers
- Door Lockout Systems
